Centrally located in Northern California, the Eldorado National Forest is a great place for quiet walks and great adventures. A year-round recreation area, the forest offers opportunities for everyone. Plan a visit, experience the wonder, join us in preserving and sharing this rich resource.
Spring is just around the corner and there are many hiking possibilities and other activities below the snow line as well as at higher elevations. Check out the Highway 50 Forest Walkers for great hiking tips at lower elevations. In the high country there is still plenty of snow for x-country skiing and snowshoeing. Very soon we’ll see the hiking opportunities open up throughout The Eldorado Forest, off Highway 50 and Highway 88.
